Sore point
Meaning:
a subject which causes unpleasant memories of past difficulties and arguments
Examples:
A very similar phrase to this is ‘touchy subject’, or ‘a no go area’.
They both have the idea that it is something that you should not really talk about, a sore point is really something that is unpleasant for somebody for a particular reason.
Sentences:
Don’t ask him why he had to sell his car last year; it’s a sore point with him.
Don’t speak about what happened on holiday last summer; it’s a sore point with her.
Don’t ask Fukuda-san if she got a salary increase this year; she didn’t, and it is a sore point with her.
See red
Meaning:
Become very angry
Examples:

Meaning:
*a very strong form of “please”, but we often use it almost as an expletive or something we say when we are angry.

Look before you leap
Meaning:
think carefully before you do anything which uncertain
Synonyms:
Look twice before you leap.
Sentences:
It is important to look before you leap.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t sign the lease for that apartment. I’m just saying you should look before you leap.
Let oneself go
Meaning:Relax and enjoy oneself
Sentences:
Eat, drink and be merry, Christmas comes but once a year, so let yourself go.
The evening was really a great success, everyone let themselves go.
I love to dance and just let myself go. Let yourself go, John. Learn to enjoy.
When I was depressed, I let myself go and was really a mess.
